Since Hollywood has discovered super hero movies held the big box office, there’s a glut of actors willing and able to fill these roles. No need to get overly creative, since the comic book genre hasn’t jumped the shark quite yet. The anticipation of the DC Comics movie, Batman vs. Superman (July 17, 2015) is feeding the rumor mill before the New Year. I guess this movie is so distant that the need to promote can’t be positioned just in the year of release. These actors are part of the project:
The rumors floating are to possibly use Bryan Cranston or Joaquin Phoenix as Lex Luthor and Denzel Washington as Green Lantern (John Stewart in the comics). This just after an announcement of featuring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
Of course all of this is cast in pudding and anything can change. Many Americans would be quite satisfied to have Yvonne Strahovski play Wonder Woman. She did an excellent job as a super spy in the TV series, Chuck.
Despite all of this DC hype there’s real focus on at least two eagerly awaited super heroes from the Marvel Universe. Captain America 2 (April 4, 2014) and The Amazing Spiderman 2 (May 2, 2014).
